The Dorvic Hotel is a hotel located in Blantyre, Malawi. Blantyre is a thriving commercial city with many local large and international businesses as well as central and local government administrative departments. The hotel, which is a family owned business, serves middle class tourists and business clients. It was founded in 2007 by Victor Mbewe and his wife Dorothy. Their mission is: "to be the best hotel in Malawi by delivering shareholder value through innovation &quality service where the customer comes first and members of staff render a service that matches the highest professional standards." They have social impact by providing employment and using local suppliers. * 40 employees
Due to the worsening economic situation in Malawi, the amount of tourist clients has declined significantly. Dorvic Hotel encounters a stiff competition with large hotels, and a proliferation of low cost lodges and motels. The owners, Mr and Mrs Mbewe, would like to receive support improving its marketing and sales strategy. This would help them to better position the hotel in the market to increase their market share. You will be working in close collaboration with the new marketing official.
