About the organisation
Sidama Union sells coffee beans to the international market as well as the national market. Their vision is to improve the income and standard of living of local coffee farmers. The Union is owned by 46 Coffee Farmer Cooperatives with a total member of 87.000 farmers. Sidama helped these thousands of smallholder farmers to get premium prices for their coffee by offering them quality certifications. (like Rain Forest Alliance,FLO FairTrade, UTZ) Farmers are enabled to feed themselves and invest in new infrastructure such as roads, grain mills, schools and access to electricity. *18 employees
What will you work on
The current marketing & sales strategy is not effective enough. Market potential is there, now they are looking for ways to tap that potential! They would like you to assist in developing a practical marketing & sales strategy. Furthermore, they would like your advice on the development of a new website.
What do we expect from you
You are an experienced marketeer or sales professional. You know how to co-create a hands-on plan to strengthen their market position and to boost their sales. You are flexible, creative and have affinity with coffee.
Also, to participate in an Expert Programme you need to have:
- at least five years of relevant working experience
- at least have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
Costs
Participation in this programme is on a voluntary basis. International travelling expenses are to be paid by the participant. SharePeople charges the participant a reasonable fee for which he/she receives matching, preparation, training (intercultural and safety) and work materials. However, the local organization facilitates full board & lodging and local transportation for the participant.
Personal coaching by a professional coach is optional in this programme but comes with additional costs.
